Meet John
After facing hardships as a young man that could have permanently derailed his life, John has become a respected and successful business owner who views his companies as a platform to reach people for Christ and support ministries around the world. He is the Founder and CEO of John Houston Homes, a homebuilding company he began in 2005. Since that time, he has started five additional companies which make up the JH Family of Companies including Trinity Oaks Mortgage, recently named by National Mortgage News as the #1 best mortgage company to work for in the US, a land-development company, a title company, an insurance company, and an environmental erosion company.
During his journey of building these businesses, John has stayed true to his core belief of putting God first, family second and work third. This has created a company culture and brand that excels at the highest level. When asked how he leads his companies, John says “I make the best business decisions possible with the most talented workforce…unless God specifically leads us in a certain direction.”

In 2023:
Wrote, published, and launched a discipleship curriculum for young professionals that was implemented in the Household Group.
Suit and Shepherd had multiple speaking engagements, including one large international conference in Amsterdam focused on reaching people for Jesus Christ. The team was able to encourage other marketplace leaders how to use their businesses to reach people for Christ and Give to the Kingdom.
John launched his second book, Trust and Follow, with Forefront Books and currently has 5,000 copies in print.
Over 23,000 subscribers or followers of John Houston’s newsletter and social media, where he posts weekly to help Christians integrate their faith into every aspect of their lives, including business.
Completed writing curriculum to help other faith-filled marketplace leaders implement the same SEAM approach the JH Reach team has implemented in Household Group.
Wrote and published a discipleship curriculum for CEO’s and Senior Leaders. Suit and Shepherd launches this curriculum with 9 CEO’s and Senior Leaders in January 2024.
